Language : Thai
Instructor : Ms.Tachanun Kangwantrakool
Objectives :

Approach, Deployment and Results
This Workshop is designed to sensitize all personnel in software organizations to
Quality and get their buy-in for continuous improvement, then provide a step by
step, practical framework to Define, Control, Assure and Manage Quality - leading
to Total Quality and measurable

Who Should Attend :

The Workshop has been designed for those:
- Project Manager , Software managers and practitioners interested in the
Capability Maturity Model for Software (SW-CMM) or CMMI in area of
SQA/PPQA
- person wishing to be come SQA/PPQA , Enhancing Quality through and
effective internal audit process.
- Quality Managers or those responsible for Quality wishing to extend and
develop their previous knowledge of quality, systems and auditing skills.
- The organization, which got problems in SQA Implementation from your
preparing for Assessment SEI-CMM or CMMI ML 2-3-4-5.
- TQM person, Software process assessment, software capability evaluation, or
other appraisal teams using the CMM or CMMI
- Software engineering process group(SEPG) members who are doing software
process improvement

Benefits :

This workshop helps prepare participants to make valid judgments regarding an
organization’s implementation of PPQA (SQA). The course is helpful in identifying
issues that should be addressed in performing software process improvement as
structured by the SW-CMM or CMMI
SQA/PPQA is one of PAs (Process Areas) of level 2 of the Capability Maturity
Model Integration (CMMI) of the Software Engineering Institute. This Workshop in
its four days format.
The three-day course introduces participants to the PPQA (SQA) and its
fundamental concepts. The course discussion emphasizes understanding of
PPQA (SQA) activities and their characteristic key process areas of PPQA(SQA)
(PAs).
This course fulfills one of the requirements to become a SQA person.

Course Outline :

1. The Best Practices
2. Quality definitions
Belief systems changes precede behavior change. This module helps
align attitudes, provides perspective, facilitates buy-in, and addresses
people’s skepticism.
What is Quality and why we need to control. Quality cannot be
Controlled or Assured, least of all Managed, unless it is first Defined.
Quality : The totality of features and characteristics of a product
or service that bears on its ability to satisfy given needs.
Quality Assurance: is the activity of providing to all concerned the
evidence needs to establish confidence that the quality function
is being performed adequately.
Quality Metric : Quantitative measure of the degree to which the
product possesses a given attribute that effects its quality.
This module provides guidance for defining Quality in concrete, measurable
terms.
3. SEI- CMMI V1.3 overview (stage and continuous representative)

The SEI Capability Maturity Model Integration for Software ,Services and
Non-SW describes a framework that organizations can use to determine their
ability to develop and maintain software; it is a model for organizational
improvement. The CMMI is based on the process management work of W.
Edwards Deming, Joseph M. Juran, and Phillip B. Crosby, and can be applied by
organizations to improve their software process through a software process
assessment. The CMMI also can be applied to software vendors via contractor
evaluation.
CMMI define 5 levels of process Maturity based on an organization’s support
for certain “process areas” (PAs). CMMI is a model against which a company’s
software development process capability is measured. The objective of using
the model is to attain increasingly more predictable process performance and
product quality, while minimizing variation in performance from the desired level.
This module provides guidance for How does CMMI fit in your Organization.
4. SEI/CMMI-PPQA Model interpretation

Purpose: Provide management with appropriate visibility into the process
being used and the products being built.
 Involves
 - reviewing and auditing the software products and activities to
ensure that they comply with the applicable procedures and
standards
 -  providing the software project and other appropriate managers
with the results of those reviews and audits
  - PPQA Implementation for SEI-CMMI Assessment
      > Organization planning and policy for PPQA (CO)
      > SQA Role and Responsibility in project (AB)
      > SQA Activities to perform (AC)
      > SQA Measurement and Analysis (MA)
      > SQA Verifying Implementation to Other PAs
         (REQM, PP, PMC, CM)
      > Continuous Process Improvement: How? For
higher level 2?
5. SEI/CMMI-PPQA and MA

What ‘s different from SEI/CMM –SQA and SEI-CMMI-PPQA
How transition to CMMI –PPQA and MA
6. QA Tasks

“Defect” is Imperfection; lack of something essential.
This module provides guidance for Categorization of sources of Software
Defects and root causes of Defects.
This module provides guidance for Software Quality Metric Analysis.
9. High Maturity Level concept (ML4 and 5)
10. Assessment
Determine the degree of satisfaction for the Capability Maturity Model
Integration PAs examined. Facilitate the initiation and continuation of
process improvement actions.
